I had no real interest in reading this until I came across Alan Dershowitz on the John Stossel show, in what seemed a totally inappropriate and uncharacteristic kind of segment. Generally Stossel is all about the Libertarian big ideas, and yet - here was this holder of an endowed chair at Harvard, shrieking like a little girl. He was ranting about how students at some school in Chicago should shun their teacher for him having asked them to read and comment on the book. Seems rational enough a request in an institution of supposedly higher learning, but I got the distinct impression that the Israeli lead apologist thinks that only he and his ilk are qualified to decide what we should and should not be allowed to read. So much for our democratic "friends" in the Middle East eh? More curiously, this Dershowitz character (wasn't he on O.J.'s "Dream Team"?) is actually supposed to be an American citizen, as well as being called one of the great Constitutional scholars of our time. If he's really one of the best, then it's no real surprise why we're where we are. Not being particularly fond of anyone so devotedly myopic to defending Zionism (or any type of close minded zealot for that matter), the more he whined, the more I felt compelled to purchase, read, and share the book. So far, next to Hayek's, Road to Serfdom, it's probably my most frequently lent volume.

JVP is moving from strength to strength. Though it didn’t liberate Palestine yet, it certainly managed to convince a few Jews that Jewishness is actually a good thing.

Today we learned that the legendary activist and scholar Noam Chomsky appealed to the general public to donate to the Jews only Group.

In the letter Chomsky admitted that “these days, there are really only a handful of Jewish organizations that honor the traditions of universal equality that inspired me to be an activist so many years ago.”

Chomsky is no doubt a clever boy, he surely knows why there are only a handful of Jewish organizations that subscribe to universalism. Jewish culture and identity politics are tribal. In other words, Jewish politics is anything but universal. Chomsky knows very well that JVP is a Jews only group. Though it is happy to take donation from everyone, its leadership is Jewish. Accordingly, Ahmad, Salem or Ali wouldn’t become JVP’s leaders. They are not racially qualified.

Today, Mordechai Vanunu, the Israeli nuclear whistleblower, is almost forgotten. But he has not given up the fight for freedom.

Vanunu is appealing to the Israeli Supreme Court to set him free – free to leave Israel, the Times of Israel reports.

“I don’t want to live in Israel,” he told the court in English – he won’t speak Hebrew while imprisoned inside the Jews-only state.

I’m not ready to take on another video project, at the moment, but I get incensed when so many people—even intelligent commentators like Paul Craig Roberts and Man of the People, Roger Waters—insist on comparing Israel to Nazi Germany, when the comparison is quite absurd. Israel’s policies are far worse than Nazi Germany’s ever were.

Paul Craig Roberts wrote: A person might wonder what is exceptional and indispensable about a government that is a reincarnation of Nazi Germany in every respect.

Roger Waters said: The parallels with what went on in the 30’s in Germany are so crushingly obvious that it doesn’t surprise me that the movement that both you and I are involved in is growing every day.

It has been said that comparisons are odious, and they are even more so when the comparison is biased in the wrong direction.

Zionism’s stated aim, as propounded by Theodore Herzl at the First Zionist Congress in Basel, August 1897, was to steal a land already occupied by others in order to create the Zionist Jewish State of Israel. And, ironically, it was not Adolph Hitler but Herzl who first coined the phrase “the final solution of the Jewish question” in a communication with the Czar of Russia.

The unification of Germany took place in 1871. But regardless of that, Kayne West’s “controversial” comment is a provable fact.

Shameless former Labour MP Denis MacShane, who infamously operated for more than a decade as the kosher police within the British parliament was thrown into jail today.

MacShane has been put behind bars for six months for expenses fraud after admitting to submitting 19 fake receipts amounting to £12,900.

Mr Justice Sweeney said at court today that MacShane had "deliberately created misleading and deceptive invoices" with the "considerable" dishonesty involved.

MacShane, 65, was a Labour MP for 18 years. Along that time he has managed to chair the inquiry panel of the All-Party Parliamentary Group against Anti-Semitism. In March 2009, he became chairman of a think-tank on anti-Semitism at the European Institute for the Study of Contemporary Antisemitism.

Naivety can be expressed in various forms. Its definition in the dictionary is ‘lack of experience, wisdom or judgement’. One form of expressing naivety can be to assume the Model United Nations (MUN) conference is an ideal portal for young people to criticise and share innovative approaches to global issues. Why? Let me explain:

An opportunity was extended to the state school I attend: we were invited to a Model United Nations. At first I was intrigued by what this event was and what it entailed. Therefore I researched it. The first website I went to was Wikipedia (no surprise there), and the definition given is as follows:

Model United Nations (also Model UN or MUN) is an academic simulation of the United Nations that aims to educate participants about current events, topics in international relations, diplomacy and the United Nations agenda.

The participants role-play as diplomats representing a country or NGO in a simulated session of a committee of the United Nations, such as the Security Council or the General Assembly. Participants research a country, take on roles as diplomats, investigate international issues, debate, deliberate, consult, and then develop solutions to world problems. More recently, simulation of other deliberative bodies, such as the United Nations Security Council, has been included in Model United Nations, even if they are completely unrelated to the UN or international affairs as a whole. In general, the participants that the executive panel considers to be most contributing are given awards, such as 'Best Delegate award'.

GAZA CITY , Dec 20 2013 (IPS) - Wearing tattered shoes and hopping between dirty puddles, 14-year-old Sabeh manages to find his way to the market at the Al Shati refugee camp, one of Gaza’s most heavily populated and poor areas.

He asks a man selling socks if he can buy a pair for one shekel (29 cents). Sabeh looks despondent when the salesman says, “three shekels and no less.”

The boy protests and says his feet are freezing, but the salesman is adamant. Sabeh tries again: “But I’m freezing and this is all I have.” Both know the socks won’t help as long as Sabeh’s shoes are torn and soaked in cold, slushy sewage water.

Alsweriki is concerned how their properties, damaged by flood and sewage water, will hold up as Israel continues its blockade on materials needed for repairs in Gaza.

A torrent of heavy rain over Gaza this week forced 40,000 residents out of their homes – 5,000 of them had to be evacuated by Palestinian rescue crews in boats. Two people were killed and at least 108 injured, according to Dr. Ashraf Al Qedra, spokesman for the Gaza health ministry.

Along the second half of the 20th century many Jewish intellectuals, activists and artists positioned themselves at the forefront of Western advocacy of immigration and multiculturalism. Occasionally we were also expected to believe that immigration, tolerance, pluralism and multiculturalism are intrinsic to Jewish culture and thought.

But as the West became gradually aware of the scale of Israeli racism and intolerance towards migrant communities, more than just a few intellectuals were courageous enough to point at a clear discrepancy between the progressive ideas Jews claim to represent and what their Jewish State happens to be. There aren’t many countries that are more anti-immigration than Israel. The Jewish State is also very selective when it comes to multiculturalism. Israel happily integrated humus and falafel into its cuisine. It even let a few juicy Arab swear words into its emerging Hebraic dialect but it has been far less enthusiastic about Palestinian mourning their own plight and the Nakba in particular.

However, Jewish passion for immigration is clearly fading away these days. It is not a secret that mass immigration of Muslims and Arabs made many Western Jews feel uncomfortable to say the least. In recent years we have been monitoring rapid surge of Jewish involvement in anti-immigration political and intellectual activity. Some so-called ‘progressive’ Jews fight the veil in the name of ‘feminism,’ others insist on eradicating Islamic symbolic identifiers in the name of ‘secularism.’ I guess that even Jewish ‘progressive tolerance’ has its limits, especially when it comes to Muslims. However, Zionists are actually slightly more consistent in that regard: they openly ally themselves with ultra-nationalist groups such as the hawkish EDL. Anti-Islam positions are often promoted by Hasbara, interventionist and neocon outlets such as Harry’s Place. The xenophobic message is also disseminated via literature, academia and general media. Here in Britain, journalist celebrity Melanie Phillips published her notorious Londonistan.

Jewish past support of pro-immigration and multiculturalism is easy to explain.

For the obvious reasons, many Jews prefer to live in multi-ethnic and fragmented societies, being one minority amongst many. Identity politics, pro-immigration and multiculturalism are there to dismantle the cohesive national and patriotic bond in favor of a manifold complex structure consisting of a fragile and dynamic exchange between a manifold of minority groups.

Jews are often threatened by the possibility that indigenous lower-middle and working classes may follow their nationalistic and patriotic inclinations and turn against them. In that regard, a radical demographic boost of the working class with a varied mixture of foreign ethnicities is regarded by progressive Jews as a necessary preventative measure against anti-semitism.

But here is an interesting development. Last week Spiegel published an intriguing interview with Alain Finkielkraut, a French so-called philosopher and also a Jew and son of immigrants. Finkielkraut is no longer threatened by ‘the lower middle classes.’ Quite the opposite, he actually pretends to be their ally and he even makes himself their ambassador: “the French that one no longer dares to call Français de souche (ethnic French) are already moving out of the Parisian suburbs and farther into the countryside. They have experienced that in some neighborhoods they are the minority in their own country. They are not afraid of the others, but rather of becoming the others themselves.” In other words, the ethnic French are now “otherized” together with the Jews by a tidal wave of Islamic tsunami.

It doesn’t take Finkielkraut long before he points directly at the ‘enemy within.’ “Many Muslims in Europe are re-Islamizing themselves. A woman who wears the veil effectively announces that a relationship with a non-Muslim is out of the question for her.” I guess that Finkielkraut finds it unacceptable that Muslims do not buy into the Mendelsohnian Jewish ‘assimilation’ paradigm — be a Goy in the street and a Jew in your dwelling — the façade of pretending to blend into the masses, yet adhering to tribal and exclusive supremacy in clandestine fashion. Muslims, so it seems, are not collectively buying into this duplicity mode. Seemingly, they are not shy of their love for Allah. They are actually proud of their symbolic identifiers. These facts alone indeed have managed to challenge the notion of left and progressive tolerance. And it isn’t exactly a secret — the Left has failed in this tolerance test.

Haartez reported a few hours ago that, "Nelson Mandela, was trained in weaponry and sabotage by Mossad operatives in 1962, a few months before he was arrested in South Africa. During his training, Mandela expressed interest in the methods of the Haganah pre-state underground and was viewed by the Mossad as leaning toward communism."

Haaretz continues, "a letter sent from the Mossad to the Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem reveals that Mandela underwent military training by Mossad operatives in Ethiopia during this period. These operatives were unaware of Mandela’s true identity. The letter, classified top secret, was dated October 11, 1962 – about two months after Mandela was arrested in South Africa, shortly after his return to the country."
