The Royal Northern College of Music just posted its official cancellation notice..
The RNCM admits that cancellation of The Orient House Ensemble's Concert was due to safety issues.

Cancellation Notice:
Over the past few days the RNCM has received a significant amount of negative correspondence relating to the booking of Gilad Atzmon and the Orient House Ensemble on Thursday 5 March.
After careful consideration, and to ensure the safety of all involved, the RNCM decided to withdraw the concert. This decision was taken and actioned prior to the launch of an associated petition and in no way reflects any political view of the College. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
And it’s worth noting that the Zionist pressure group substantiated their ‘arguments’ by referring to the writing of none other than Alan Dershowitz, currently implicated in a huge sex scandal. This puzzles me. Would the RNCM cancel my concert based on criticism of my work voiced by the likes of say, Jimmy Saville or Garry Glitter? You decide.

Just because the Guiaradn espouses liberalism, social welfare, justice, world peace, feng shui and climate change doesn’t prevent it from being a bottleneck for all these issues, and to my eyes the paper tilts at windmills and sidetracks the main issues of any story, as ‘good’ liberals tend to do. In other words it has long hair but it isn’t really much of a hippy. Of course it now adds to its CV that it has silenced a voice of dissent, the sort of act one has come to associate with dictatorship and oppression.
