Exeter University-Gilad Atzmon-The Wandering Who, and Where?

A talk given in Exeter University on 8.11.2011.  I elaborate on different issues that led me to write The Wandering Who: Jewish Identity, Israeli Lobby, Jewish Power, the Talmud vs Jewish secularism, Israeli institutional barbarism and so on.  I also explore once again the Liam Fox scandal.

Very interesting Q&A session-elaborating on peace, shalom, Holocaust, pre traumatic stress disorder, the Holocaust, Jewish Marxistss & Jewish anti Zionist, Marxism, Israel and Zionism being Nazi-like ideolgies,  Khazar and much more.

Camden’s Grand Inquisitor

Paul Inglefield is Head of Communications of Camden Council. Recently he wrote to Palestinian solidarity activist Gill Kaffash as follows:-Dear Ms Kaffash,

The Council has received a complaint about your name and details being placed on our website as the contact for the Palestine Solidarity Campaign [PSC]. The complaint is we should not be promoting you as the PSC contact because it is reported you support the Holocaust denial views held by Paul Eisen in an article dated January 2008. Clearly this is a sensitive matter because it may conflict with the Council’s equality policy so I want to give you the opportunity to comment on whether this article is correct or not before deciding what action, if any, the Council should take.

Reader may wonder what evidence Mr Inglefield has for Gill’s supposed views on some historical events. The answer is, that in a footnote in an article he wrote, Paul Eisen thanked Gill, among others, for her friendship and support. Anyway, Gill replied to Mr Inglefield asking him to explain exactly how what is complained of might contravene Camden Council’s equality policy. Mr Inglefield replied that

Saying No to Alan Dershowitz

10 Nov

On declining Alan Dershowitz’s challenge to debate my endorsement of Gilad Atzmon’s autobiographical The Wandering Who? (my few lines are an echo of a poem by ee cummings that I recall reading many years ago). Dershowitz’s defamatory polemic can be found in the Huffington Post, but why it was considered publishable remains for me a dark mystery. Gilad Atzmon’s response can be found on his blog for those sufficiently interested.

Gilad Atzmon: The Bund- A Disturbing Jewish Political Exercise (must watch)

Introduction by Gilad Atzmon: A few years ago  I saw a small extract of this film (The story of the Bund in Israel- film by Eran Torbiner). This week a bigger chunk of the documentary was left on youtube.

http://youtu.be/SvmcRKvyrWk

This is a film about the ‘Jews only’ socialist party- The Bund. In the documentary you can watch for yourself ‘young’ revolutionary Bundists in action. In spite of being ‘Socialists’ and ‘Internationalists’, they, for some reason, ended up living  in a ‘Jews only’ State in occupied Palestine at the expense of the Palestinians.

I guess that this may as well be, the real meaning of ‘Jewish socialism’- You sing the International in Yiddish on someone else’s land.

By the way, we do not have an access to the entire film,  but so far, I didn’t notice a single reference to Palestine, Palestinians their cause or plight.

Gilad Atzmon: Britain, Israel and Iran

Israeli Ynet reported today that British Ambassador to Israel Mathew Gould, declared today that “Britain shares Israel's concerns with regards to Iran, and stressed that the Islamic Republic must NOT be allowed to produce nuclear weapons.”

And yet, unlike the Guardian that was quick to print Israeli propaganda spin suggesting that ‘UK military stepped up plans for Iran attack’, Ambassador Gould was somehow hesitant. “An attack on Iran would carry a heavy price” he said and added,  “UK favours further economic sanctions against Iran.”

Dershowitz’ Lies and Glitches by Gilad Atzmon

Rabid Zionist Alan Dershowitz is devastated by the success of ‘The Wandering Who’. He just cannot accept that professors and academics endorse the book “as ‘brilliant,’ ‘fascinating,’ ‘absorbing,’ and ‘moving’,” In his latest article he again misses an opportunity to debate the book, its message and its meaning. He prefers instead to indulge in the only things for which he possesses any talent at all - lying and bullying.

But why, I wonder, does Dershowitz insist on reducing a potentially ethical, intellectual and ideological debate to just one more Zionist exercise in mud-slinging? I can think of only two possible answers; First, Dershowitz lacks the necessary intellect to engage in a debate and second, that Zionism and Israel cannot be defended - ethically, morally or intellectually.

But there is also an amusing aspect to Dershowitz’s Zio-centric tantrum.  For some strange reason, he believes that it’s down to him, an ultra Zionist, to decide who his kosher enough to lead the Palestinian solidarity discourse. “There is growing concern that some of Israel’s most vocal detractors are crossing a red line between acceptable criticism of Israel and legitimizing anti-Semitism,” he pontificates without really being able to point at any anti Semitism in mine or anyone else’s work. But is it down to Dershowitz or any other Zionist to define the ‘red lines’ of the solidarity discourse?

Friends of palestine and Palestine Solidarity Campaign present:

Gilad Atzmon The Wandering Who, and Where?

Gilad Atzmon discusses his new book on Jewish identity
politics and its significance to the Palestine-Israel conflict.

"Fascinating and provocative" -Professor John J. Mearsheimer

"A transformative story told with unflinching integrity that all (especially Jews) who care about real peace, as
well as their own identity, should not only read, but reflect upon and discuss widely." Professor Richard Falk
“Gilad Atzmon decided to open Pandora’s Box, and ignite a debate that has been frustratingly dormant for too long. His experiences are most authentic, views are hard-hitting, and, at times, provocative. It must be read and discussed.” Ramzy Baroud

Shabana Syed: 'Welcome to the United Jewish kingdom'

Introduction by Gilad Atzmon: The following is a brave attempt to locate my criticism of Jewish identity politics and the Israeli Lobby at the heart of contemporary political discourse.

http://www.salem-news.com

"...it’s also obvious to every person who reads me that there is not a drop of racism, bigotry or anti Semitism in any of my writing." - Gilad Atzmon

Gilad Atzmon

(LONDON) - Gilad Atzmon the famous ex Israeli musician, philosopher writer whose new book “The Wandering Who?” has caused fury amongst pro Israel groups is no stranger to controversy; a few months ago he caused a stir when Sheikh Raed Salah a respected figure amongst Arab Israelis visited the UK and was arrested for no other reason except that the Israel lobby in Britain demanded it, Atzmon wrote: “Welcome to the United Jewish Kingdom”.

His words may have astonished a few but were prophetic, considering the current political and economic climate against a background of the power of pro Israel lobbies in Britain and America.

AIPAC’s control of American Congress is well known; America is suffering one the worst economic crisis, yet Congress has voted to continue the 3 billion aids package to Israel.

George Polley: The Wandering Who-Book Review

http://tostadaspeaks.blogspot.com

Gilad Atzmon’s transformation from a typical Jewish Israeli kid to someone who began questioning the Israeli narrative began when he heard Charlie (“Bird”) Parker with Strings on a late night jazz program. “I was totally knocked down. The music was more organic, poetic, sentimental and wilder than anything I had ever heard before.” Parker was the beginning of Atzmon’s journey away from being a believer in the Zionist ideology and his “chauvinist, exclusivist tribe” to being one of its staunchest critics. What completed the change in his life was a visit to Ansar as a young Israeli soldier. Ansar was “a notorious Israeli internment camp in South Lebanon” in 1981 during the first Israel-Lebanon war. “I studied the detainees,” he writes; “They looked very different to the Palestinians in Jerusalem. The ones I saw in Ansar were angry. They were not defeated, they were freedom fighters and they were numerous. As we continued past the barbed wire I continued gazing at the inmates, and arrived at an unbearable truth: I was walking on the other side, in Israeli military uniform, and I was nothing but a ‘Nazi’.” (page 6)

What a shocker for this grandson of a former prominent commander in the right-wing Irgun terror organization, raised on the notion of Jewish righteousness and Arab duplicity, to finally awaken to the truth about his country. “At the time of the Oslo Accords in 1993, I just couldn’t take it anymore. I saw that Israeli ‘peacemaking’ was nothing but spin. Its purpose ... was to further secure the existence of the Jewish State at the expense of the Palestinians. For most Israelis, shalom doesn’t mean ‘peace’, it means security, and for Jews only.” Moving to London, he began work on a Master’s Degree in philosophy at the University of Essex, began his career as a jazz musician, and began digging deeply into modern Israel’s character for answers to his questions about its origins, its inhuman treatment of Palestine’s Arabs, and its contemptuous regard for international law.

Central to Atzmon’s discourse is a discussion of what the word “Jew” stands for, a question that seems to him to be “taboo within Western discourse”. It is clear why. Begin to ask the question, and you are likely to get yourself accused of being an anti-Semite. And this is exactly what has happened to Atzmon. Though he presents a harsh criticism of Jewish politics and identity, there is not “a single reference to Jews as ethnicity or race” anywhere in the book. “In my writing, I differentiate between Jews (the people), Judaism (the religion) and Jewish-ness (The ideology).” If you’re “searching for blood or race-related interpretation of Zionism (you) will have to look for it in someone else’s book.” It certainly is not present here.

This Is How Israel Runs The British Press

Introduction by Gilad Atzmon: The following is a glimpse into the Israeli Hasbara's/Mossad's/Sayanim's operation in the UK. It explains how Israel and its agents manage to dominate  news coverage in Britain and beyond. It seems from the following leaked email as if BICOM (British Israel Communication & research Centre) runs the News desk for the BBC, Sky and the FT. I guess that last week the Guardian also joined the party. It is now  an offical Israeli propaganda outlet

Shockingly enough, not a single British paper was brave enough to report the story or publish the leaked email. Surely they know who their masters are. The message is pretty clear. British press is not trustworthy. It is as  Zionised as our political system.

Bicom 'embarrassed' by misdirected email

Source http://www.totallyjewish.com/news/national/c-16955/bicom-embarrassed-by-misdirected-email/

There were red faces at Bicom this week when an email from its
director intended for donors was in fact sent to the organisation’s
media database.

The email, sent by Lorna Fitzsimons, the director of the organisation,
“dedicated to creating a more supportive environment for Israel in
Britain”, stated: “Throughout the weekend, Bicom staff were in contact
with a whole host of BBC and Sky news desks and journalists, ensuring
that the most objectively favourable line was taken, and offering
talking heads, relevant to the stories unfolding.”

She added: Bicom has one of BBC News’ key anchors on a bespoke
delegation
. When planning her very first trip to the region, Sophie
Long got in touch with Bicom to see if we could help her out with
meeting in the region. Sophie is now spending three days of her trip
with Bicom Israel, taking a tour around the Old City, meeting [Israeli
government spokesman] Mark Regev…as well as visiting Ramallah and
Sderot.”

Most embarrassing, however, was the revelation that Fitzsimons – a
former NUS president and Labour MP for Rochdale – had “briefed
Jonathan Ford, the Financial Times leader writer for his upcoming
leading article” in the paper.

She noted Bicom had “regular contact with the Editor at Large of
Prospect Magazine, David Goodhart, helping to inform him about the
forthcoming UN vote on Palestinian statehood”.

A Bicom spokesman told the Jewish News that this “administrative
error” was “slightly embarrassing”. He stressed that Fitzsimons had
not been “asked to resign or had offered her resignation”.

Nahida Izzat: From Tribalism to Humanism

Introduction by Gilad Atzmon: The following  review makes me especially cheerful. It was written by Nahida Izzat, a Palestinian writer and a poet whom I immensely admire. Nahida produces here an Exilic Palestinian and Muslim reading  of my book. I am very flattered by this review.

The Path to Freedom

A journey from the narrowness of egotism to the splendour of Universalism

In his new book “The wondering Who”, Gilad Atzmon reflects on his transforming journey from an IDF “Israeli”, a racist tribalist, self-ghettoized Zionist, with exclusionist mentality, who was greatly influenced as a child by his “veteran Zionist terrorist” grandfather, into simply a Universalist and Humanist.

A courageous and enthralling journey that began in the most unexpected places, in one of the suburbs of occupied Jerusalem, Al Quds, and by no other tool than a musical instrument, a saxophone!

A journey that he didn’t choose initially, rather, he stumbled upon. He came to discover that in the world out there, where gentile live, raw talents, daring intelligence and breathtaking beauty not only exist but also thrive. This realization took him by surprise; it contradicted his basic supposition of his own and his people’s superiority as Jews. This revelation pressed on him by necessity to take a good look in the mirror, the inner mirror of the self.

Gilad describes how he fell in love and became fascinated with Afro-American music; it was that love that opened the door of escape for him and enabled him to flee the narrowness of the Ghetto of tribalism to the wide world of humanism. As he discovered the brilliance and the captivating beauty of the music played not by Jews, but by gentiles, moreover, most of those musicians were actually black, Atzmon explains: “… it was kind of a revelation. In my world, it was only Jews who were associated with anything good”.

Gilad Atzmon: The Guardian of Israel

Israeli hasbara insists that an attack on Iran is compatible with both Western interests and NATO strategy. For example, this week Israel released information about an IAF exercise in NATO’s bases in Italy. The statement was made to create the impression that any future Israeli aggression against Iran enjoys Western backing. NATO however was quick to disassociate itself from any such attack. NATO leader Fogh Rasmussen confirmed in a press conference that the alliance has no intention whatsoever of intervening in Iran.

To date, we’ve not seen any British public official statement that would suggest that Britain is ready to back either the US or Israel in any possible strike on Iran.

Yet, it seems as if the Guardian, once a respected British newspaper, has already become fully integrated in the Israeli psychological war machine.

Yesterday the Guardian joined the hasbara chorus and informed us that the UK military has ‘amid fresh nuclear fears’ stepped up plans for an attack on Iran.

The Guardian didn’t even try to substantiate its claim. Instead, it produced a gossipy news story that didn’t adhere to the most minimal journalistic standards.

Gilad Atzmon: Dershowitz is Desperate

In yet another attempt to destroy ‘The Wandering Who’, a book praised by the most relevant intellectuals, humanists and writers around, Alan Dershowitz ends up associating himself with the most despised and discredited caricatures in the Palestinian solidarity movement- The infamous sayan Tony Greenstein and his close associate  Sue Blackwell.

If Alan Dershowitz really wants to understand the ideology and impulse that leads him to write such drivel, he must   read “The Wandering Who”. It’s all there. He may also grasp why everyone else who reads the book, praises it.

To read Dershowitz ‘s latest rant.

Though it is obvious that Dershowitz didn’t read The Wandering Who, here is a list of (out of context) cherry picked quotes both Dershowitz and his sender in Tel Aviv hate in particular:

“[T]o be a Jew is a deep commitment that goes far beyond any legal or moral order” (20) and this commitment “pulls more and more Jews into an obscure, dangerous and unethical fellowship” (21).

If Iran and Israel fight a nuclear war that kills tens of millions of people, “some may be bold enough to argue that ‘Hitler might have been right after all’” (179).

“It took me years to accept that the Holocaust narrative, in its current form, doesn’t make any historical sense. … If, for instance, the Nazis wanted the Jews out of their Reich (Judenrein—free of Jews), or even dead, as the Zionist narrative insists, how come they marched hundreds of thousands of them back into the Reich at the end of the war?”

Gilad Atzmon: Armageddon Ahead

It does not take a genius to gather that the Israeli aggression towards Iran would endanger every living species on this planet. Devastatingly enough, our Western governments  do nothing to stop the Jewish State. That should not take us by surprise: our politicians are largely funded and vetted by Israeli lobbies that openly support attack on Iran.

Here in Britain Defence Secretary Liam Fox had to resign two weeks ago when it became clear that he was ‘breaching ministerial laws’. The British press went out of its way to reduce the issue of his resignation into just another 'gay-ish mini scandal'. But we actually have strong reason to believe that Fox was working intensively for Israel. He was enthusiastically advocating Israeli interests such as an attack on Iran.  Together with his ‘best friend’ Adam Werritty,   he was also funded by the Israeli lobby. We  know also that Fox and his ‘flat mate’ Werritty were in direct contact with  Mossad, and were even warned by MI6 about it.

But Fox was not alone: with 80% of our leading party’s MP's being Conservative Friends Of Israel’s (CFI) members, we have good reason to believe that treachery is now institutional amongst UK elected politicians.

As we brace ourselves while learning from the Israeli press about the IAF’s final preparations ahead for an attack on Iran's nuclear plants, I would like to share with you a short passage from The Wandering Who.

In the following extract, I explore the exact genocidal scenario that Israeli pilots are now  training to accomplish, in these very days. As much as it is clear that our treacherous elected puppets will fail to restrain Israel, it is equally and tragically obvious that Israel lacks the means to restrain its own madness.

“…I will try to elucidate this idea through a simple and hypothetical yet horrifying war scenario. We, for instance, can envisage a horrific situation in which an Israeli so-called ‘pre-emptive’ attack on Iran escalates into a disastrous nuclear war, in which tens of millions of people perish. I guess that amongst the survivors of such a nightmare scenario, some may be bold enough to argue that ‘Hitler might had been right after all.’

The above is obviously a fictional scenario, and by no means a wishful one, yet such a vision of a ‘possible’ horrific development should restrain Israeli or Zionist aggression towards Iran. As we know, Israeli officials threaten to flatten Iran rather too often. In practice, pre-TSD[1] Israelis make this devastating scenario into a possible reality.
