Six weeks ago, the University of Freiburg was defeated by Cafe Palestine (Press Release) when five judges at the Administrative Court of Freiburg rejected the university’s arguments for denying Cafe Palestine a venue for one of its speakers. Surely it is now time to delve a little more deeply into this unprecedented case which deserves close attention.

At the centre of it all we find one Dr.  Heinrich Schwendemann, Freiburg University historian and a founder of one of many German Holocaust memorial sites Shoa.de. 

A year ago, Cafe Palestine invited Dr.  Schwendemann, together with Prof. Norton Mezvinsky the renowned American Jewish historian to participate in a panel at Freiburg University. Also participating was Gilad Atzmon, the Jazz artist and author of "The Wandering Who – A Study of Jewish Identity Politics".  This much discussed book has been endorsed by some of the most important scholars and intellectuals of our time with a German edition published in June 2012.

Dr. Schwendemann enthusiastically accepted the invitation but, three  days before the event, he changed his mind insisting that reading Atzmon’s book made it impossible for him to share a platform with somebody who is "relativising the Holocaust".  The event took place without Dr. Schwendemann (Speech Gilad Atzmon), (Speech Prof. Mezvinsky)

In July 2012, Cafe Palestine planned to host another talk at Freiburg University featuring French professor Christophe Oberlin from Paris. The talk was titled "Plastic Surgery in Gaza" and was set to attract the attention of the local medical community as well as Palestine supporters and humanists. But Cafe Palestine soon learned that the university had decided to withdraw use of the venue. Smelling a rat, Cafe Palestine looked closely into this cancellation and after having received the letter from the University outlining the reasons for the cancellation, decided to issue a complaint at the Administrative Court.

On Friday, an Israeli security guard shot dead a fellow-Israeli Jew at the wailing wall saying later he feared the man was a Palestinian militant because he had shouted "Allahu akbar" ("God is the greatest" in Arabic).

The verdict is clear. Israelis are not racist. They kill everyone who shouts ‘Allahu akbar’ regardless of one's race, gender or religion.

BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Mohammad Assaf, the first Palestinian to win the popular Arab Idol TV singing contest, will also become the UN's first Palestinian goodwill ambassador.

A diplomatic source in Beirut, where MBC's Arab Idol is filmed, told Ma'an the agreement was signed days ago to make Assaf the first-ever Palestinian refugee to become a goodwill UN ambassador, becoming the Palestine refugee agency UNRWA's first-ever regional youth ambassador, the source said Saturday.

Israel’s Chief Rabbi Metzger Arrested

Rabbi Metzger is probed for bribery and  money laundering.

Israeli National Fraud Squad raided the home and offices of Chief Ashkenazi Rabbi Yonah Metzger yesterday  and questioned him under caution for ten hours, as part of a bribery, fraud, money-laundering and breach-of-trust case. Metzger was later released. The chief Rabbi  is now under house arrest.


Chief Rabbi Metzger is forbidden to enter his offices, leave the country or make contact with any of the other suspects in the case.

Metzger and three other Jewish orthodox men are suspected of being involved in the pilfering of hundreds of thousands of shekels from a number of charities.

In the last few days, we have been learning about the emerging unrest in Brazil.  The protests began early this month in response to a rise in bus fares in São Paulo and elsewhere, but have grown rapidly into a general outpouring of discontent after widespread anger at the heavy-handed police crackdown.

June 18th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) A chief doctor at a Costa Rican government-ran hospital was arrested today on suspicion of being part of an international organ trafficking network which specializes in selling kidneys to patients in Israel, according to the Attorney General’s Office.

Attorney General Jorge Chavarria told the press that the arrested is Francisco Mora Palma, head of Nephrology at Calderon Guardia Hospital, one of the largest state medical centers in the country.

"The patients who required the transplants were in Israeli territory, and some of the (trafficking) victims [had their kidney removed] here and others were transported to Israel.  We have information that at least one person died after being operated on in Israel,” Chavarria said.

The prosecutor explained that the organization has branches in Israel and Eastern Europe, though did not elaborate, citing the ongoing investigation.

The Most Contaminated Land in the Middle East

Ynet reported today that Haifa District Court judge ruled that there was no causal link between Kishon River’s pollution and the illness of more than 70 Israeli Navy seal divers, despite expert claims that 'exposure to one molecule' could lead to illness.

For more than 25 years, the Israeli elite Navy seals used to dive and train in the Kishon River in the Haifa Bay, apparently, the most polluted river in Israel. Authorities were warned about the lethal concentrations of cancerous substances in the river for years.

The Haifa  District Court ruled Monday that there is no causal link between the pollution in the Kishon River and the illness of 70 former Navy commandos.

The divers' suit was filed against the Haifa Municipality, Haifa Chemicals, oil refineries, and the Haifa Region Association of Towns, claiming they are responsible for the pollution and toxic waste in the river, including arsenic, nickel, chromium, cadmium, lead and benzene.

Seemingly it took 2000 years for the Jews to come back to their so-called  ‘promised land’ but just a few years to pollute the rivers and contaminate the land.

Neuer's unintentional book-promotion stunt was meant to be part of his witch-hunt against Special UN Human Rights Rapporteur Richard Falk, who has warmly reviewed both books. (Listen to my recent interview with Richard Falk here.)  But what Neuer apparently doesn't grasp is that the vast majority of people at the UN, especially the delegates from countries other than the US and Europe, absolutely loathe hysterical Zionist idiots such as himself. You can bet that after Neuer's little stunt, many of those who witnessed it made a note to head for the bookstore or library to pick up a copy of Griffin's and Atzmon's books.

 

Most UN delegates are favorably disposed toward 9/11 truth and anti-Zionism. On the several occasions when Iran's soon-to-be ex-president Ahmadinejad has stood before the UN and called 9/11 an inside job, the US and Israeli delegates, and a handful of US-Israeli puppet delegates, stood up and walked out. But the representatives of the vast majority of the world's delegates not only refused to join the walkout, but stayed to give Ahmadinejad standing ovations! Obviously most of the world's people, including their UN delegates, hold views closer to those of Griffin and Atzmon than to those of Neuer and his neocon uber-Zionist colleagues.

The US ambassador to the United Nations Human Rights Council, Eileen Chamberlain Donahoe, has branded Richard Falk as “unfit to serve in his role as a UN Special Rapporteur.”

It seems that in his role monitoring the occupied Palestinian territories he’s in the habit of expressing views that don’t coincide with the twisted dogma of the pro-Israel lobby and its handmaidens, like Donahoe and Susan Rice, the outgoing US ambassador to the UN and National Security adviser-designate This attack is merely the latest in a long line of attempts to smear, vilify and dump Falk.

Donahoe’s biography on the US mission website includes this high-tone gem. “On the front lines of the Obama administration’s strategy of multilateral engagement to promote democracy and respect for universal human rights, Ambassador Donahoe and the US delegation work to ensure that the courageous voices of human rights defenders from around the globe are heard.”

Hasan Afzal the previous leader and owner of the British Muslims for Israel website has apparently stepped down from his role of hypocritically claiming to stand for freedom of speech whilst running campaigns to prevent Muslim clerics from speaking at venues up and down the U.K.

Italian border authorities arrested 77-year-old Israeli citizen Gedaliah Taub on Friday on suspicion of international human organ trafficking. Taub was detained at the Rome airport after officials determined his passport was forged.

Rome police told Maariv that Brazil had issued an international arrest warrant for Taub after he fled the South American country in 2009 during a leave from prison, where he was serving a nine-year sentence for organ trafficking.

Taub reportedly arrived in Rome on Thursday and presented the border officials his Israeli passport. The official noted that Taub was behaving anxiously and upon further inspection, discovered that the date of birth on the passport had been altered. The Israeli citizen was taken for questioning and his fingerprints were run in an international database, which revealed that he was wanted in Brazil. A search of his belongings further revealed that he was carrying multiple passports as well as a knife. Taub was promptly arrested and sent to a local jail where he awaits extradition to Brazil.
